"Record of Existence" is an ongoing research project that investigates how systems of documentation can reconstruct everyday life. Drawing on photographs, hand-drawn animation, painting, printed matter, and installation, the project examines the relationship between lived experience, memory, and archival structures.

Rather than treating documentation as a neutral record of reality, the project understands it as an active process that shapes identity. Ordinary moments—often overlooked within daily life—are collected, translated and reorganised into different visual forms. Through repeated acts of recording, drawing and recontextualisation, everyday experience becomes both an archive and a material for artistic production.

Developed from the artist's years living in Japan, **Record of Existence** explores the tension between personal memory and digital evidence, questioning how contemporary technologies transform how existence is remembered, constructed, and ultimately understood.

《存在證明記錄》是一項持續發展中的藝術研究計畫，探討日常生活如何透過不同的紀錄系統被重新建構。作品結合攝影、手繪動畫、繪畫、印刷品與裝置等媒介，思考生活經驗、記憶與檔案結構之間的關係。

本計畫並不將「紀錄」視為對現實的客觀保存，而是理解為一種持續塑造身分認同的行為。那些在日常生活中容易被忽略的片刻，透過拍攝、繪製、整理與重新編排，被轉化為不同形式的視覺檔案。經由反覆的記錄與轉譯，日常經驗既成為被保存的記憶，也成為持續生成作品的創作材料。

計畫源自藝術家在日本多年生活的經驗，透過不同媒介之間的轉換，探討個人記憶與數位證據之間的張力，並進一步思考在數位時代中，人們如何透過不斷累積的紀錄來理解、建構，甚至證明自身的存在。

透過將生活經歷轉換為有序數據，此裝置反映了數位檔案如何不僅僅是保存記憶，而是主動定義並穩固身分。藉由印刷品、動畫與攝影堆疊的並置，作品揭示了「生活時間」與「紀錄時間」之間的緊張關係。

Record of Existence is an installation that transforms the artist’s life in Japan into a chronological data structure. Using the capture dates of every photograph stored on his smartphone as a temporal framework, the work reconstructs daily life as a system of indexed evidence.

By converting lived experience into ordered data, the installation reflects on how digital archives not only preserve memory but also actively define and stabilise identity. Through the juxtaposition of printed matter, animation, and photographic accumulation, the work exposes the tension between lived time and recorded time.

《桌面上系列》(On the Desk Series) 確立了藝術家早期對於「將日常紀錄環境轉化為繪畫形式」的調查研究。

The On the Desk Series marks an early investigation into translating everyday recorded environments into painted form.

Through slow, hand-painted processes, the works translate observed fragments of daily environments into images shaped by repetition and subtle variation.

Rather than depicting static scenes, the paintings reveal the temporal structure underlying ordinary arrangements, where stability and change coexist.

《時間序列》是一系列以拼貼形式呈現的創作實踐，探討「記錄」與「繪畫」之間的辯證關係。

作品以照片、照片的拍攝日期，以及以此為基礎所繪製的記錄性繪畫作為素材，將日常所見轉譯為冷靜疏離的記錄性圖像。這些拼貼並非單純再現靜態場景，而是呈現繪畫與攝影之間微妙的張力——前者是主觀詮釋下的產物，後者則以近乎機械化的方式標記時間的流逝，兩者在同一畫面中並置、對話，共同構成對「記錄」本質的反思。

Time Series is a body of work presented in collage form that investigates the dialectical relationship between "documentation" and "painting."

The work draws on photographs, the dates they were taken, and documentary paintings derived from them as source material, translating everyday observations into cold, detached documentary images. These collages do not merely depict static scenes; they reveal a subtle tension between painting and photography—the former a product of subjective interpretation, the latter marking the passage of time in an almost mechanical way. The two are juxtaposed and placed in dialogue within a single composition, together forming a reflection on the very nature of documentation.

《東京：永無止境的日常》是《存在證明記錄》中的一段影像紀錄。作品結合馬克筆繪製的手繪動畫、偽 VHS 錄像質感與現場錄音，記錄 2022 至 2025 年間東京不同角落的日常片段：新宿的人潮、地鐵車廂、郊外鐵道，以及反覆被重建的城市景觀。

影片以非線性的方式排列，如同被不斷回放的個人檔案。透過對真實影像的轉描與模擬信號質感的重構，作品在「仍然存在」與「曾經存在」之間形成曖昧的時間狀態。

在持續運轉的城市裡，那些看似微不足道的瞬間，被保留下來，成為存在曾經發生過的證明。

Tokyo: Endless Everyday is a moving-image work from the installation Record of Existence.

Combining hand-drawn marker animation, simulated VHS textures, and field recordings, the work documents fragments of everyday life across Tokyo between 2022 and 2025: crowds in Shinjuku, subway interiors, suburban railways, and constantly reconstructed urban landscapes.

Structured non-linearly like a repeatedly replayed personal archive, the film traces over recorded footage and reconstructs the texture of analogue signals, creating a temporal tension between what still exists and what has already disappeared.

Within the city's continuous movement, seemingly insignificant moments are preserved as evidence that existence once occurred.
